Supervisor of the Office
Dr. Sari bin Ibrahim Al-San'e
Supervisor of the Initiative Management Office
Strategic planning outlines the future directions of organizations and helps establish the general features of the path they take to achieve their goals. It provides leadership with a high-level view of available resources to be optimally utilized, fostering a spirit of innovation among employees and departments within the organization.
Organizations cannot effectively implement their strategy unless they align the strategies of their business units, support functions, and relevant partners with the overarching strategy and vision of senior management. This alignment promotes focus and coordination, facilitating the identification and achievement of synergies.
King Saud University, supported by wise leadership, has been among the first universities to outline its strategic plan. It has updated and aligned its objectives with Saudi Vision 2030 and labor market requirements, realizing the aspirations of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. This effort aims to solidify its distinguished position among global universities, emphasizing the importance of modernization and development in its plans and tools. The university believes that strategic planning is one of the key components of success in achieving numerous scientific, research, and community achievements as outlined in its future strategic roadmap to attain global leadership and excellence in building a knowledge society, enhancing spending efficiency, supporting investment avenues, achieving financial sustainability, and promoting research, innovation, and optimal use of opportunities and capabilities.
The Initiative Management Office, part of the University’s Planning and Development Agency, acts as the supervisory arm of the university's strategic plan, reflecting the university leadership's belief that effective execution of the strategic plan requires translating the plans of university units and departments to align with the strategic plan and implement strategic initiatives that meet the set indicators. This contributes to bridging the gap between ambition and performance.
Additionally, the distinguished team at the office supports the university's relevant entities regarding their strategic plans through institutional communication with stakeholders within the university concerning the strategic plan, providing necessary support through consultations, assessments, and training.
In conclusion, I would like to thank the esteemed Acting President of the university and the esteemed Vice President for Planning and Development for their unwavering support and for facilitating all means to provide optimal service to beneficiaries of the Initiative Management Office's services.
