The university has received continuous support and guidance from our wise government—may it be blessed—to achieve further excellence and advancement. This requires diligent work and ongoing development of the university's strategy to ensure the quality of educational programs and their outcomes, enhance spending efficiency, support investment opportunities, achieve financial sustainability, and promote research and innovation, as well as the optimal investment of all opportunities and resources due to the unlimited support for higher education institutions from our wise government.

Based on the above, the university has been keen to develop its strategic plan to ensure meaningful and distinguished participation in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, with strategic directions based on 19 key indicators. It has also identified the main pillars upon which the strategic plan is built, which include scientific research, education and learning, community service, institutional work environment, self-generated revenues, diversified investment, financial balance, and spending efficiency.

Comprehensive strategic objectives have been established based on the core functions of the university: scientific research, education and learning, and community service. Additionally, there has been an expansion of financial objectives related to self-generated revenues and investments that align with the university's independence and future direction. To ensure financial sustainability, it was essential to consider enhancing spending efficiency to make expenditures appropriate and to minimize waste, if any. The strategic plan also aligns with the programs of Saudi Vision 2030 to contribute to achieving its objectives for our beloved nation. Furthermore, many initiatives have been launched, varying in nature, to encompass all strategic goals and contribute to their achievement with the highest quality that matches the role and history of King Saud University.
